I think I promised this awhile ago...
This is the program from the Disneyland '59 opening, and boy do I wish I had been there, but that was biologically impossible. However, thanks to DVD I can relive the event for myself.
In fact, I recommend that you color laser print this entry, staple it together, get your lifesize Meredeth Wilson cut-out from out of the closet, and reenact the event in your very own living room! Hey! There's Julie Nixon!
I want to offer another shout-out for requests. I gotta lotta stuff, so if there's something you want to see, let me know. If I can find the time to scan them, I may start uploading my Disneyland merchandise catalogs....

Jed, this is really fantastic.
This program should have been printed as a "bonus" with the DVD release of the program...

Apparently Edward Fernet, the Consul General of Switzerland, was a little upset that Disneyland's Matterhorn was facing the wrong way. Whoops! Very neat item; thanks for sharing.
you know; call it plussing; call it what ever you want. walt just did things correct. this must have been a 'cool' day.
ZOWIE. Wow. Unbelieveable!
Ultra-neat & Ultra-Rare. Geek that I am I actually did print it out on the color laser at work and I think I will watch that 59' Special again tonight. For some odd reason (the Crane shot maybe) I love the ending credits with Tomorrowland in the background, I've watched it over and over...
Since you are taking requests, how about the Opening day Train Ticket? You had to know that was coming!
GREAT POST - THANKS!
Train ticket...coming up. It's actually more than just the ticket, but you'll have to wait and see...
Hi Jed,
I just came across your site and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it.
I'm from - and run the website for - "Fantasies Come True" in Los Angeles. Have you heard of us? We opened the world's first Disney-only store back in 1980 and have been online now for since 2000. We only sell Disney so our stock covers just about everything - WDCC, pins, Olszewski miniatures, Nightmare Before Christmas keychains, magnets, PVC figures, Schmid, Salt & Pepper shakers, Evan K. Shaw, Pooh & Friends as well as hard-to-find vintage items.
I've added you to our LINKS page (http://www.fantasiescometrue.com/links/#blogs). If you'd like to add us to your links page, that'd be great. But if not that's cool too.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
