I've really screwed up this whole series. This piece actually pre-dates yesterday's piece, which I originally said should have run on Monday. In truth, THIS ONE should have run on Monday, followed by yesterday's and then by the one that actually ran on Monday. What a mess. Thank goodness I'm almost into the 1960's.
This is a nice piece. Very rare, and as usual, too big for my scanner. I appreciate the Major's generous offer, but here at VDG, we foolishly (and with much hubris) pride ourselves in journeying forth with our primeval technology since we are already at our technological breaking point.
Don't touch that dial...something very special coming tomorrow.

I love this flyer...unfortunately it is so long that I guess every one of them got folded for carrying around the park! Or maybe they were handed out with folds already?
I agree, GREAT flyer! I like the drawings and the hands pointing to -->NEW<-- I bet they came folded. I have a few of the super long train tickets from this period, and every one has the same fold right in the center!
Appreciate your efforts! Hang in there...
I just found this site (AMAZING!) and saw your note about scanner challenges and don't know if you still have problems working from an old scanner, BUT (long story longer) I found a great deal on Amazon for a scanner with an 11x17 bed. My husband is a comic book artist and so all of his art is 11x17 and it used to take forever to scan the pages 1/2 at a time on the regular size flatbed and then stitch them together in Photoshop.
Apparently, Mustek is the only company to make a commercial flat-bed scanner with an 11x17 glass, and they originally sold for something like $1,500 (industrial scanners, even simple ones like a flat bed, with similar sizes cost between $5,000 - $25,000). I got mine from Amazon (we bought new, since we use it daily and we'd also get the replacement guarantee) and it was around $150. We've had it for 3 years with no problems at all.
Just my 2 cents if you're in business for a scanner! ;-)
