Monorail Connects to Disneyland Hotel

First of all, THANK YOU for all of your very kind and encouraging comments. They mean a lot. In fact, I feel like a heel for not commenting more frequently on those blogs that I check everyday (SFTP, Daveland, Gorillas, VDT, Viewliner, OTB and others.) In the future, I will endeavor to be a better blog-brother.

If you have a blog that you'd like me to include in my link section, just drop me a line or let me know in a comment. If it fits into my theme, I'm happy to do it.

And, if there are any special requests or you'd like to share something, just let me know.

Now, today's post...

This item was a "holy grail" piece for me until I found it in a big lot of Disney World crap about 18 months ago. It was printed and distributed, probably inside guidebooks or at the main gate, in the summer of 1961 when the Monorail was connected to the Disneyland Hotel. I LOVE these "New Attraction" flyers and have loads of them. For some reason, though, this was the hardest for me to find, although I've known about it since 1992 or so when Dean Mancina published an article about his collection in the long-defunct fanzine Persistence of Vision.

Ooh, Another great one.

My mom tells stories of how off-duty cast members would hang out at the Monorail Bar at the end of the day. Would love to see any emphemera from that lost location.

I don't have anything on the Monorail Bar, unfortunately. Not even a napkin or swizzle stick. Too bad!

Love it.

I bet that bag of Disney World crap would look awfully nice to me!

I gave you a plug in my blog that hopefully will alert more people to your presence in the Disney blogosphere.

I might have some Disneyland items I could send your way. Tell me what you are primarily interested in.

I'm always looking to help out my fellow collector.
