More of Me...

More of me at Disneyland, this time around 1974 or so. This is the trip where I remember riding Nature's Wonderland and through Rainbow Caverns, but oh so vaguely.

Check out the glimpse of old Fantasyland behind my sister (also featured wearing the stylish Mary Poppins hat.) Zooming in on the postcard in my sister's hand reveals the Dumbo ride, I think.

I LOVED that Robin Hood hat with the feather; I think it finally disintegrated from constant use and abuse.

And, no, I did not save our greasy food containers. Does anyone know what restaurant this was, located in the shadow of the Matterhorn? Could it be the Tomorrowland Terrace across from the subs???

Indeed it is me. I've been lurking about here in Virginia for coming up on NINE years now...hard to believe.

Thanks for sharing these Jed. I would guess that Major Pepperidge is jealous of the hat.

More great photo's from the family vault! Thanks! Hey were these slides? There sure are clear and have great color.

Yes, I am jealous of the hat, although that is a kid-sized feather. I need the big pink or blue ostrich plume!

Great pics. Very nice. I too love the hat.

The restaurant looks like the Hills Bros. one on Main St. to me....

Believe Jed may be asking about the second photo's eatery, Chris... which looks like the old Fantasyland Snack stand that was between Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and the Matterhorn. Yes?

Jed, These are great! And you have not changed a bit, hardly!
I'm personally most jealous of the previous post's photo of you with Orville. I was infatuated with Orville as a 5th grader, when the film came out in 1977. Do you remember the creepy glassy-eyed costume for Evenrude the Dragonfly? A classic!

The Fantasyland Snack Shack sounds like the kind of place we would have eaten! Anyone have a photo?

Kevin: I don't remember the Evenrude costume...do you have a photo?

I concur in Outsidetheberm's assessment of the eating location. "Fan 2" is what Cast Members would have called it; guidebooks and maps call it all sorts of things (Character Food Stand, Fantasyland Snack Stand, Food & Refreshment Stand, Refreshment Stand...). Fan 1 went away because of Big Thunder Trail; Fan 2 stuck around until September 1982.

Wow...

Thanks for sharing!

I love the aerial photo of Fan 2 - especially because it is also an aerial photo of Alice!
