My brother and I snaked through the crowd to get near the entrance doors to the Lincoln auditorium and were right there when Walt entered with dignitaries. Having seen him on TV for so many years, it was awe-inspiring to see him and hear his familiar voice him just a few feet away.

Walt and others spoke in the auditorium before the Lincoln show actually began. I remember it being an interminable wait! We wanted to see Mr. Lincoln, who was indeed quite impressive (although we imitiated his stiff movements for the rest of the day).

Then it was off to the Plaza Inn for lunch--where, amidst the excitement of inventorying our swag, I managed to lose my lunch, barely making it to the restroom in time.

We had our picture taken (in glorious black-and-white) with the House of the Future and Matterhorn in the background. I'm looking at that picture now, still in its Tencennial-emblazed folder. My brother is sporting the magic Press Party sticker that entitled us to ride without tickets.

What a day!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684262530068454610.post-32046606684084158112008-02-05T16:09:00.000-08:002008-02-05T16:09:00.000-08:00WOW---That ticket must be worth a few bucks...What...WOW---That ticket must be worth a few bucks...What a nice find that must have been.

The original GMWML show was easily the best of all versions.

The soundtrack album from the NY64 Worlds Fair is a great listen. If I close my eyes and concentrate I can still see those excellent Sam McKimm paintings depicting key events in the life of The Great Emancipator.

Great post---Please keep 'em coming!walterworldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18319070921534941313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684262530068454610.post-6271225922183490852008-02-05T08:24:00.000-08:002008-02-05T08:24:00.000-08:00SWEET!!!
